We have not had much time to ourselves recently, or the ability to achieve some much needed escape. This was a small camp-in-hike trip we were able to do one evening after work. I was able to catch some beautiful sunset and milky way shots. Enjoy.

Our first love is backpacking, and always will be. We will post about adventure we have gone and are going on whether its on the expedition or back home.
WAY BEHIND: Swift Campout 2016
Welp, I am far behind with updating on this adventure. For this years bike-camping trip for the Swift camp out we decided to ride from La Pine to Hole in the ground Oregon. This is the trip that made me decide that I need a dedicated camping machine, not a 350 single speed 29er that’s…
The End of the Trail: Oregon, the Pacific Neverland
Read the whole article in Oi Magazine. Link: The Pacific Neverland …We ride to the coast through the Rogue-Umpqua wilderness which passes us off to the Siskiyou forest, creating a nearly uninterrupted path of verdant Douglas firs and Jurassic ferns. The antithesis of its cardinal East side, Western Oregon is a lush temperate rain forest where…
Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays to all of our readers and supporters! We will be spending them finishing out the book design and then disconnecting in the woods. -Arrows West
Oklahoma Part 3 (And a bit of New Mexico). I Like Big Buttes and I Cannot Lie
At the end of the panhandle you will find the coolest thing that Oklahoma has to offer: Black Mesa State Park! The pinyon-juniper woodland is my favorite ecosystem. The Utah Juniper trees look like wicked witch’s fingers twisted at the joints, with shredded bark used by orcs as back scratches. And, the pinyon, oh how…
Day Whatever, I give up: Side trip through North Carolina
After falling in love with the first AT thru-hiker town by Woods Hole, we followed the recommendation of a friend to visit Hot Springs, NC too. It’s a pretty darn romantic place with 108 degree hot springs and secret sidewalks lined with magnolias. NC was a much needed break for us where we could cheat…
Adventure Jams – Mountain Man
Thanks Ant Gregory for sharing the spirit of adventure!
The Time that Jerk Bear Ate a Part of my Truck.
We were camping in Tennessee along a forest service route near South Holsten lake. At an overgrown camp site called Low Gap. The drive itself was a long and windey climb up to the ridge, the road was pretty rough in most parts. There was a grave near the top as well, NOTHING…
EMERGENCY: Open When Hungry
BIG BIG Thanks to our sponsors at Rise Bar for hooking us up with their protein and breakfast bars. We keep the A’Snax Box under our seats for quick release action. It’s especially helpful for whenever we get a little lightheaded in our altitude climb, and the ingredients and flavors are everything you could ask…
Days 2-9: Part 2. Virginia Forever
(The featured picture is of Rob & Ronan walking in the dried up Mountain Lake, VA) Rob was the one who introduced me to whole nature thingy. I’ve always loved being outdoors, but besides Central Park (which has been my frame of reference for everything) and the adventures we’ve had together, everything is pretty much…
It’s a Book!

Last week Chelsea and I did a weekend at Pine creek gorge with Josh from http://www.existexpire.com he should be updating his blog soon with photos from the trip. Unfortunately…
